best person you can have providing you with service,
whether it is a DJ or doctor, is someone who can honestly
say: “I am so blessed to have the greatest job in the
world, and I never take it for granted.”
That is something I can say every day.ss
Musical
Journey
I believe everything in
life’s journey comes from God. My parents’ combined
musical tastes and talents cover the entire spectrum
of music, and I’ve been blessed to have that combination
of music ingrained in my soul. When I began as a DJ,
I didn’t realize at first that my love and respect for
all music could have a place in my chosen profession.
After a while though, I realized that I didn’t have
to become a stereotypical DJ, easily categorized as
a “techno DJ” or “hip hop DJ.” I could branch out and
do things my own way. Why limit myself to one style
of music, to playing only to certain club crowds, or
even being a mobile DJ leading cheesy dances? With no
good answer to that question, I determined to be a leader
in the music industry, leading the way to a new level
of professionalism and changing the way people perceive
DJs.
I pride myself in the way my mind thinks about music—I’m
able to quickly decide what song needs to be played.
I never have a set playlist; it’s always a live, unique
performance based on what’s in my mind at the time.
There is never a dull moment when you have on average
4 minutes to think about your next song, get it cued,
mix it in seamlessly, and then repeat all night. I have
a vast knowledge of music, so I’m never limited to certain
time periods, styles, or genres. I am able to get any
crowd to move: whether they don’t usually dance or are
young or old. Age, nationalities, personalities—I break
through those barriers and make sure everyone dances
like there’s no tomorrow.
I see my life as a musical journey. I’m always growing
and transforming myself as a DJ at every new event I
DJ or MC. Stagnancy is not an option—it’s boring. And
that’s the opposite of who I am and what I offer to
an event.
